AppScale charm now available

Canonical is excited to announce that  AppScale is now available in the Juju charm store.  With 300 charms and growing, the Juju charm store is the destination for cloud-based enterprise applications.

AppScale is an open source PaaS that leverages the Google App Engine APIs. It allows devs to quickly focus on the business logic of the application and frees your ops from unwieldy software stacks. AppScale gives enterprises the freedom to run Google App Engine applications across all public and private clouds or on any virtual or physical infrastructure.

“With the addition of AppScale to our Charm Store,  users can benefit from AppScale’s unique ability to move applications running on Google App Engine into the Chinese online market,  all with the simplicity and efficiency of Juju,” said Sam Cozannet, Big Data Programme Manager at Canonical.

“We are thrilled to be the newest offering in the Juju Charm Store,” said Graziano Obertelli, VP Engineering, AppScale Systems.  “Today we help enterprise customers shorten the time to market with a modern, easy, scalable, and portable, standardized PaaS platform. We believe that web and mobile applications require the freedom to be deployed anywhere, and everywhere. AppScale gives the control back to the application, you decide where and how your cloud data is stored. And JuJu makes all this easier then ever to deploy and scale.”

AppScale is a member of Canonical’s Charm Partner Programme, which helps solution providers make best use of Canonical’s cloud orchestration tool, Juju;  enabling instant workload deployment, integration, and scaling at the click of a button. Juju makes it easy to deliver complete solutions in minutes, on virtually any public or private cloud.
